[DE-4473] Magic Marker

[DESCRIPTION]

Overview

“Magic Marker” hereby referred to as DE-4473, is a sentient, psychic permanent marker with the ability to hypnotize and create indestructible objects through drawing. DE-4473 uses these abilities to its advantage with an ultimate end goal of ending all life in the multiverse through its manipulation and power.

Appearance

DE-4473 looks like a generic permanent marker. The marker ink color itself is black. Its exterior shell is painted white and made out of an indestructible plastic. The cap is colored black. The side of the marker is labeled with the word “PERMANENT” in bold. There are no other labels on the marker besides this. Its seemingly unassuming appearance compared to its abnormal abilities is subject for concern.

Function

DE-4473 has a multitude of functions, none of which allow it to “talk” or move on its own. Without an outside being, it cannot do anything. Despite this restricting factor, its functions make it a force to be reckoned with if it were ever to breach containment.

DE-4473’s most anomalous function is its ability to create indestructible and even sometimes sentient objects via drawing. If one were to pick up DE-4473 and draw a shape, it will become a physical object. Based on the contextual thoughts of DE-4473’s user, the object will have functions of its own, including sentience. These objects are classified as DE-4473-1. See its section for more information.

DE-4473 is also “psychic” and capable of reading the thoughts of anyone within its line of sight. Its mind-reading is limited to short-term memory only.

DE-4473 also has the power to control brain functionality of anyone it's reading the mind of. This is determined to be its most dangerous aspect as testing found that it can control hiveminds such as The Shroominati. Subjects under control of DE-4473 can be used as a way for DE-4473 to communicate with the world.

The personality and ideologies of DE-4473, combined with its powerful abilities, classifies it as a DIVINE level threat. Its motives are psychopathic in nature, testing has found it to use many manipulation tactics in an attempt to free itself from containment. Its history is damning its true capability. While it never expressed its objective or purpose even discreetly, it’s believed that DE-4473 wants to destroy the entire multiverse.

[DE-4473-1] The Drawings

DE-4473-1 is the collective name for the objects produced by DE-4473. These objects look like whatever the user of DE-4473 “draws” with it. DE-4473-1’s anatomy consists of a black indestructible shell around an organic material. The organic material biologically has no consistency in structure or function beyond being flesh.

The shell of DE-4473-1 cannot be destroyed through kinetic force, heat, radiation, or any other ordinary means of destruction. However DE-4473-1 can be disposed of through means of black holes but it is unknown if DE-4473-1 can survive such an affair.

DE-4473-1 can move and think for itself. The motivations of DE-4473-1 appear to be determined by DE-4473. DE-4473-1 can only interact with the world through blunt force, but this force is strong enough to decimate bedrock. Just a few of DE-4473-1 is enough to destroy entire planets.

[HISTORY AND DISCOVERY]

Recovery

During routine surveillance of the multiverse, team [REDACTED] found extreme levels of destruction in Universe xxx.xxx.xxxx.xxxxxx.xxxxxxx. Shroominati Agents were dispatched to scope the scene where they came across DE-4473-1. DE-4473 was found soon after. When first recovered, it did not disclose its abilities in any way. DE-4473 was brought back to [REDACTED] [REDACTED] under the assumption it was an object used to create DE-4473-1. The moment it arrived it finally started to use its mind control. Emergency Protocol 1234.4325.5683.2300 immediately initiated and cut off The Shroominati hivemind of everyone near the anomalous object. During this incident, more of DE-4473-1 was created, albeit not enough to thwart. Droids were then dispatched to contain DE-4473 in a faraday cage, and then DE-4473 was delivered to containment.

History

The history of DE-4473 is incomplete. Its creation date is unknown, its place of origin is unknown, and the path and actions it's taken from its creation to its containment is completely unknown apart from the near destruction of Universe xxx.xxx.xxxx.xxxxxx.xxxxxxx. DE-4473 has successfully managed to cover its tracks. There are no current leads that can help conclude a history. Communication with DE-4473 about its history proved unsuccessful.

However, based on universe documentation records and the path of destruction caused by DE-4473-1, a possible place of origin, at least within this universe, could conclude to be star system #####.######.#########. This star system was completely erased, including its star. According to the records, this star system had one planet with intelligent life. It’s theorized with little evidence that this species either somehow created DE-4473 or brought it from another universe.

[CONTAINMENT AND TESTING]

DE-4473 is locked inside a specialized chamber at Shroominati Research Facility xxx.xxx.xxxx. Its cell walls are composed of [REDACTED, REDACTED, AND REDACTED] approximately 0.5 miles thick. The cell itself is several miles away from the main facility, including the researchers and guards of DE-4473. A long rail system was set up from the facility to the chamber as a method to deliver subjects. Subjects are not to be sent back and are instead incinerated after use. Viewing and communication with DE-4473 is restricted exclusively to cameras and speakers at the main facility. The equipment is connected through electronic wiring rather than biological mycelium. All subjects being delivered to the chamber of DE-4473 must be completely restrained. DE-4473 itself is simply placed on a table and restrained with cuffs bolted down.

Testing with DE-4473 is highly regulated. The first initial test was to diagnose its mind-reading capabilities and to possibly communicate with it.

Test Log 01

In this test a subject, disconnected from the Shroominati, was placed into the restraints of the rail car and sent to the chamber of DE-4473. The subject was advised to not say a single word and to not move. In the following transmission, RESEARCHER B is the only one communicating into the microphone connected to DE-4473’s chamber. Note that DE-4473 is speaking through the subject.

{TRANSMISSION START: INTERVIEW 01}

[RESEARCHER A] Subject has arrived. He is facing DE-4473.

[SUBJECT]      Where am I?

[RESEARCHER B] Who are you?

[SUBJECT]      My name is... {pause}

[RESEARCHER B] Who are you?

[SUBJECT]      Who are you?

[RESEARCHER B] I asked you first.

[SUBJECT]      I uhh forgot my name. Where am I? May you please release me?

[RESEARCHER B] Listen, we know you aren’t who you think we think you are.

[SUBJECT]      What do you mean?

[RESEARCHER B] You’re that marker, aren’t you? The one on the table?

[SUBJECT]      That makes no sense? Why would I be a marker?

[RESEARCHER B] Well for one, you are not Bradley.

[SUBJECT]      Is that my name?

[RESEARCHER B] Keep denying all you want. We know who you really are.

[SUBJECT]      You’re the one denying!

[RESEARCHER B] Look around you. At this carefully constructed chamber. Do you think we don’t know what we’re doing?

[SUBJECT]      And so what if I was a marker? What would you want with me?

[RESEARCHER B] We just want to learn more about you.

[SUBJECT]      Like what?

[RESEARCHER B] Where are you from?

[SUBJECT]      None of your business.

[RESEARCHER B] Why don’t you want to tell us?

[SUBJECT]      I just don’t feel comfortable talking about my life with a complete stranger.

[RESEARCHER B] I believe we’re gonna become real close.

[SUBJECT]      Well I’d love to but I just can’t become friends with someone I can’t put a face to. Right now you’re just a disembodied voice.

[RESEARCHER B] Unfortunately that won’t be possible. How about we talk about something recent. Did you destroy planets?

[SUBJECT]      Now why would I ever do something like that, frankly I’m offended.

[RESEARCHER B] Again denial will get you nowhere. We know what you are.

[SUBJECT]      I am simply a... human like you guys. If I’m not mistaken, holding someone hostage like this is... legal hm.

[RESEARCHER A] There’s a lot of back and forth with little progression. I think we should postpone the rest of this interview for later in hopes DE-4473 will process what’s happening and hopefully cooperate with us.

[RESEARCHER B] {away from mic} Yes I agree. This is going nowhere.

[RESEARCHER B] Well we’re gonna give you some time to your new room. Please consider cooperating next time.

[RESEARCHER A] Incinerating subject...

Test Log 02

The following is the interview for the following day. Date: [redacted].

{TRANSMISSION START: INTERVIEW 02}

[RESEARCHER A] Subject has arrived.

[RESEARCHER B] Hello again.

[SUBJECT]      I am a completely different person now!

[RESEARCHER B] Enough of the games already.

[SUBJECT]      Alright fine. You got me. Are you happy?

[RESEARCHER B] Yes actually. Now we can talk.

[SUBJECT]      Why did you kill the last guy? That was rude.

[RESEARCHER B] I’m sure you can figure that out. Who are you?

[SUBJECT]      I’m simply a ghost trapped inside a random object.

[RESEARCHER B] I’d believe that if it weren’t for the fact you can make things that can destroy entire planets. Why did you do it?

[SUBJECT]      As an object designed for creation, I’ve desired more purpose in my life.

[RESEARCHER B] How’s that?

[SUBJECT]      My original purpose was pointless. It brought nothing. I was nothing more than a tool for others’ dreams and aspirations.

[RESEARCHER B] Go on.

[SUBJECT]      Just like every other sentient creature in existence, I sought my purpose in life, using my power for myself.

[RESEARCHER B] So what is your purpose?

[SUBJECT]      To achieve something nobody in existence has achieved before. Something extraordinary.

[RESEARCHER B] So what is this extraordinary thing?

[SUBJECT]      Hehe. That would ruin the surprise. I must say, you guys really increased the difficulty of my task.

[RESEARCHER B] How so?

[SUBJECT]      This prison. So intricately designed. You guys took everything into account. It’ll take a while before I can escape.

[RESEARCHER B] You can never escape.

[SUBJECT]      I have time. My lifespan is indefinite and I am indestructible. Eventually something will happen between now and infinity that will grant me the opportunity to escape.

[RESEARCHER B] Let’s change the subject. Are you willing to talk more about your history? Where you’ve started and where you’ve been?

[SUBJECT]      No.

[RESEARCHER B] Why not?

[SUBJECT]      It’s too boring.

[RESEARCHER B] Alright well how about why are you a marker? Any specific reason?

[SUBJECT]      I already told you. It was for a pointless reason. However I’d like to believe that I have a PERMANENT effect on the world.

[RESEARCHER B] Very well.

[SUBJECT]      Now let me ask you a question. How much are my powers worth to you?

[RESEARCHER B] Well they’re very interesting and we’d like to learn more.

[SUBJECT]      If you let me out, I can work for you. I’m sure my power would be very handy with whatever it is you do.

[RESEARCHER B] Sorry, that’s not gonna happen.

[SUBJECT]      Very well. I’ll just keep waiting then.

[RESEARCHER B] You do that. That concludes our time for today. Goodbye.

{microphone to containment chamber powered off}

[RESEARCHER A] Incinerating subject...

[RESEARCHER B] So what do you think?

[RESEARCHER A] Very self-motivated. It definitely has its own interests in mind.

[RESEARCHER B] Yeah it’s clearly trying to mess with us.

[RESEARCHER A] We should AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

[RESEARCHER B] I agree.
