[PE-729-02] The Dwarf
The following file consists of excerpts are from a Captain ……………………, owner of the Gellion, a submarine in the fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff region of planet fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. We recovered the Gellion from the ocean floor and acquired the logs.
It’s been 3 days since we’ve set out on our latest voyage. We are to transport this mysterious package from ffffffffffffffffffffffffffff to the ffffffffffffffffffffffffff station. It should take us about two weeks without any complications, but we may need to tread through unknown waters, and face whatever creatures come through our path.
After a run in with a volcano, the Gellion broke down. We’ve since fixed the ship, but are weary that another incident may happen. The package appears to be unharmed, but an engineer claims that he “Saw the damn thing move”. A medic has been assigned to evaluate his mental state.
We’ve experienced a run in with an enemy submarine. Parts of the hull have been damaged and we’re forced to stop and perform maintenance on the ship for a week. This shouldn’t be a major delay, but sitting alone in the ocean is never a good thing to do.
The guns are back online today, so outside threats will be easier to handle. The package seems to have disappeared. We’re investigating to see where it could have gone, or who took it. We’re a fairly big crew so this should take a day.
We found the package on the medbay, but it's empty. It looks like something tore into the package.. Or out of it. We’re conducting an even bigger search for the contents, but it may slow down the restoration progress. The fact that some of the crew has stopped checking in.
Tony the mechanic saw something. It was short and had a long beard. This may be the thief, but we can’t really tell unless we get our hands on it. Now that we know there’s an intruder we can either divert even more energy to the search, or to speed up restoration of the ship.
Today a security officer was found dead. We can’t tell who it is since their body was mutilated beyond recognition and their ID was swiped, but something was written in his blood, “Rock”. Is this some type of clue? A hint? Is it a taunt or some sorts? We can’t tell, and I doubt we will ever be able to tell. The creature is to be shot on sight, as it now has the officer’s gun.
The bastard somehow managed to get to the medbay and rig the room to explode. The only thing left at the scene is chunks of at least 4 people and the word “and” written in blood. The entire ship is to be on high alert from now on.
We were so occupied with protecting the security room, we didn't worry about the reactor too much. He got in and tampered with the reactor, and within minutes at least half the ship was blown to bits. The hall to the cockpit has collapsed, trapping me inside. I’m not sure how many people are left, I can only attempt to clear the way out of here to meet up with any survivors
I cleared the way to the rest of the ship. All that remains of my crew are bodies, some with bullet wounds, some hit with a sharp object. But in the reactor room I saw what I think is the last message from it. “Stone”.
I saw it. It was dressed in red with a long beard, and a cowboy hat. I shot at it, but I’ve never been a good shot. I guess I got to the security room before it did, and have a shotgun. I’m taking every bit of supplies I can get my hands on, and preparing for the final conflict. It's me or it, and I don’t intend to lose to this dwarf, or whatever it is.
I won, but not unscathed. We met in the halls below the airlock, one of the only places not flooded. He got the first shot in, and hit me in the leg. I got a shot in with my shotgun, but before I could fire again he hit me in the shoulder knocking away the shotgun. It must have been his last bullet, because he pulled out a pickaxe and rushed me, but I still had a revolver. I fired two shots and passed out, and when I awoke I was in a medbay on the station. I don’t know if the dwarf survived or not, but the phrase “Rock and stone” will be engraved in my memory.
